Weekly Journal 1

This week was very interesting finding out more about the course for my entrepreneurial class. A couple of key elements that I liked about this weeks class: We are starting a project called the $100 Challenge. We are to set-up a business for $20 or less and try to make $100 before the end of the semester all the proceeds go to a Kiva project. This is making me put my thinking cap on and think of ways I can create a business from scratch and make it profitable in a short amount of time. Considering that my own time is limited with work and school this should be interesting. I am thinking about a project that involves purchasing and reselling from online. I want to see if I can find things that may be of less value to one person and sell them for a higher amount to another. Basically becoming a distributor of used things. Along with the challenge I found that the Action Hero's section was informative. Please see my recent post on Bruce Thompson. Finding out more about others successes can greatly help me find ways to overcome my own challenges as I become more aware and focused in my endeavors. The Start-up nation is a great website for those who have not already established what they want. I don't personally believe that this type of process will lead you to ultimate success in a business or life but the premise of writing things down and figuring out a plan are all necessary. I believe this site is a great catalyst for someone who has never looked at how they want to progress in life or business. Hopefully I can regain more insight from it's sources and details as I participate wholly in it.
